Prof. Hajime Nishitani’s Building Reputable University in Globalization: A Guest Lecture
Globalization era insists Universities to be reputable. Therefore, Faculty of Cultural Studies University of Brawijaya (FCS-UB) held a guest lecture entitled “Building Reputable University in Globalization” on Friday, March 17, 2017 with Prof. Hajime Nishitani as the speaker. He is the Vice-President of International Affair of Hiroshima University, Japan. The guest lecture was held in FCS-UB hall, started from 2.30 p.m., attended by Vice Rector of Relationship Affair UB, the Dean of FCS-UB, Vice Dean of Academic Affair of FCS-UB, Head of Department of Language and Literature of FCS-UB, Heads of Study Programs in FCS-UB, and approximately 110 students from various study programs in FCS-UB.
In this occasion, Prof. Hajime Nishitani enlightened on how to construct trustworthy university in this globalization era. He likewise explained about the programs, which have been tied between Hiroshima University and University of Brawijaya. One of them is START Program, where fresh students of Hiroshima University come to Faculty of Cultural Studies University of Brawijaya to do overseas field study course. Apart of that, programs, which can be joined by the students of UB, were also introduced.
We hope that respectable affiliation between Hiroshima University and Brawijaya University will be well preserved and the collaboration will take along benefits for both parties. [DT/MSH/PSIK FIB]
