Japanese Total Festival: Isshoni Tanoshimimashou 12
The students of Japanese Literature Study Program of Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya (FCS-UB) held Isshoni Tanoshimimashou. Isshoni Tanoshimimashou or IT is a Japanese Cultural Performing Event, which is held once in a year.
The theme on IT-12 is 青春の光 (せいしゅんのひかり) Seishun No Hikari that means Light of Youth. The purpose of the theme is to bring about the bright of the youth.
IT 12 was held on Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14, 2017 at FCS-UB. There were several agendas in this event, including competitions consisting of contest of wits, benron (Japanese speech), kikikakitori (listening to Japanese), roudoku (reading Japanese text), manga, fan art (drawing figures from anime/manga), doujinshi strip (comic strip from Japanese anime/manga), kanji (writing Chinese calligraphy), cosplay, karaoke, shodou (writing Japanese calligraphy), and band.
There were several booths at IT12, to be exact, bazaar, rewind, yukata photobooth, communities, and maid cafe. Rewind is a place where the visitors were invited to enjoy nostalgic events such as seeing the ancient tools and games from Japan and Indonesia. While on yukata photobooth, the visitors could rent yukata (Japanese traditional clothes) to take pictures. There were also manga workshop by C. Suryo Laksono, kurabu exhibition, shodou gallery, games, obake yashiki (Japanese haunt house), and shodou performance.
The Japan Foundation, some sponsors and media partners supported the events. IT12 also invited some guest stars, including Escape, Clarissa Punipun, Jeanice Ang, and Akiba Street. It is a great hope that Isshoni Tanoshimimashou will continue in the present and growing every year. [DT/MSH/PSIK FIB]
