SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang Visited FCS-UB

SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang visited Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) on Monday (18/12/2017). 78 students and teachers of SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang were welcomed in Building A auditorium, FCS-UB, from 09.00 to 12.00 a.m.

Melania Shinta Harendika, M.A., as the MC, opened the event. She then introduced the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, the Head of PSIK, and the Heads of Study Program. After that, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs delivered an opening speech stating a brief history of FCS-UB. He also thanked SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang for visiting FCS-UB and encouraged the students to ask for information about FCS-UB.

The event was continued by a speech from the Head of Senior High School 6 Tangerang (Drs. Usep Kusmara, M.M.) who expressed his gratitude for being accepted in this event. He also conveyed the purpose of visiting FCS-UB, “We came to FCS-UB because we have a language program in which the students will continue to college according to their language interest. SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang has English and Japanese programs, for the next curriculum there may be French program.”

This event was continued by souvenirs handover from FCS-UB to SMAN 6 Tangerang, photo session, and presentation by the Head of Program of International Class, Hamamah, M.Pd., Ph.D about an overview of the FCS-UB and introduction to international class of FCS-UB. After that, there is an explanation of the study program in FCS-UB represented by Aji Setyanto, M.Litt. (Head of Japanese Literature Sutdy Program), Rosana Hariyanti, M.A (Head of French Language and Literature Study Program), Diah Ayu Wulan, M.Pd. (Head of Chinese Literature Study Program), Dr. Esti Junining, M.Pd. (Head of English Language Education Study Program), and Yulia Hapsari, M.Pd. as the Head of PSIK FCS-UB.

Senior High School’s visit is one of the activities to introduce university environment. In this activity, FCS-UB introduced its activities to the students. It is hoped that such activity can be beneficial for both parties. [DT/MSH/PSIK FIB]
