Student’s Convention FCS-UB: Setting and Legal Confirmation of Student’s Law
On Saturday, March 10, 2018, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Students held students’ convention I FCS-UB. It was held in Building B Auditorium FCS-UB, started at 9 a.m. Attended by five Dewan Perwakilan Mahasiswa‘s (DPM) members and two delegates from each Students’ Activity Unit and Students Association of FCS-UB. It was held to set students’ law, which will be used for one year in the organizational life of this faculty. This event was coordinated by DPM as the legislative unit, having authorization in setting the law.
This annual students’ convention discussed some matters that need to be regulated in student’s organizational life, such as position of an institution, the differences about role and function of each institution, organization structure in the faculty, the election of delegate to be representative of FCS on Universitas Brawijaya Students’ Convention. In this event, each member of the convention reserved the right to speak. Of course, every opinion and idea would be discussed, considered and studied in the forum. In accordance with the democracy, the law is arranged by students, done by students, and for the students. Thus, it needs wise consideration and decision on set the sections to the clauses.
There were many significant changes for this year related to the duties and functions of the institution. With appropriate duties and functions, there will be a restoration system, which is appropriate to fit the culture of the faculty. This decision can be done with full support by the institutions and FCS’s students.
By this legitimate law, the students of FCS-UB can be active participant in improving quality of student’s activities in FCS-UB and improving student’s nonacademic performances for Student’s Activity Units and creating reliable organization. [Vivi/DT/MSH/PSIK FIB]
