Indonesian Language Textbook Exhibition: FCS UB is Preparing Qualified Textbook Writers
A textbook is one of the sources of learning. Although it is often considered conventional, a textbook is still quite able to contribute in the learning process.
Indonesian Language Education and Literature Study Program, Department of Language Education, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS), Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang, provides Textbook Writing Course guided by Vanda Hardinata, M.Pd. At the end of the semester, the textbooks produced were displayed in an exhibition batch 2016. The exhibition, which was attended by the entire students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, lecturers, and public, was held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at FCS Building B.
This exhibition was unique because the writers were dressed in costumes according to the theme of the textbooks and ornamented the room in such a way as to attract the audience.
In the exhibition, the students described the function of the textbooks, such as reference materials, evaluation materials, and educational aids in implementing the curriculum. In general, the textbooks were aimed at facilitating educators in delivering learning materials and providing learning materials that were interesting for the learners.
The Textbook Exhibition presented Indonesian language textbooks for junior high school, high school and vocational high schools. The exhibition was expected to encourage student innovation in composing a textbook. (DT/MSH/PSIK FIB)
