Green Walk in the Ninth Anniversary of FCS UB
On Sunday (7/10/2018) Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a Green Walk event as a closing event for the 9th Anniversary of FCS UB. This green walk was followed by all FCS UB family from the Dean, Vice Deans, the leaders, lecturers, staff, students, and the Rector, Deans of faculties in UB, and other officials.
The event was started in front of Building A FCS UB at 6 a.m. with Asian Games gymnastics, followed by Green Walk which was set off by UB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR, MS. accompanied by confetti and smoke flare lighting.
At the finish line there was a speech from the Dean followed by reviews of the art exhibition by the Rector, Dean, and invited guests. The theme “Strengthening Cultural Identity in the Millennial Era” was chosen in this ninth anniversary of FCS UB.
The Green Walk presented also various Indonesian arts and cultural performances. The performances included Brahma Payem Dance from Bali performed by Ni Luh Wayan Leonny Primantari and Yudwike Lovesa Rizki, students of Chinese Literature Study Program FCS UB; Nyai Dayang Intan dance from Kalimantan which was performed by Selvi Anita and Raviona Anninda, students of English Language Education Study Program FCS UB. There was also Bantengan performed by Sekar Kombang Group from Jetis, and Kencono Wulung percussion show from Tunggulwulung.
In addition, to encourage the participants of the green walk, there were also various prizes from various sponsors, including stoves, irons, blenders, roasters, rice cookers, fans, Tupperware, cellphones, and others sponsored by Adi’s Tour, KPRI UB, and several FCS UB partners. There are also swimming vouchers at Ubud Hotel Malang; three Refrigerators from Brawijaya Language Center and BRI. The main prize was an Umrah package from the Dean of FCS UB.
To entertain the green walk participants, also presented by a Prima Band Malay Orchestra, which also enlivened the atmosphere. Moreover, there were also a variety of Indonesian specialties as a dish for all participants of the ninth Anniversary of FCS UB’s Green Walk. (DT/MSH/PSIK FIB)
