A Lecturer of Study Program of English FCS UB Participated in IAFOR MediAsia 2018
At the IAFOR International Conference on Asian Conference on Media, Communication & Film (MediAsia) 2018 which was held in Tokyo, Japan on October, 9 – 11 2018, a lecturer of the Study Program of English, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) participated in the event presented her work entitled FROM RUNNING MAN TO MISSION X: VARIETY SHOWS AS CULTURAL REPRESENTATIONS OF LOCAL IDENTITIES.
The paper was the result of research carried out within a year, discussing how “Running Man” as a Korean variety show and “Mission X” as an Indonesian variety show representing each local culture on the international scene with a strategy adjusted to the background different culture.
Nurul Laili N., M. Hum., who had been focusing her research on matters related to fandom studies and movie studies, hoped that her involvement in this moment could provide useful feedback for her research in the future. In addition, it was also expected that new insights gained from the event could be useful and applied to teaching and learning activities in the English Literature Department of FCS UB.
