Applied Linguistics Magister Students of Yogyakarta State University Visited FCS UB
On Tuesday (11/6/2018), the Magister of Linguistics Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) was visited by the students from the Magister of Applied Linguistics Study Program, Post-Graduate Program of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) for comparative study activities. This visit was one of the work programs planned by the Applied Linguistics Study Program of UNY as an effort to establish relationship and partnership between the institutions.
In his speech, the Dean of FCS UB, Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, SE., DEA. expressed his gratitude to the guests and hoped that Magister of Applied Linguistics Study Program could establish good relations and be able to become partners in terms of student exchanges and collaboration in the field of research, and hoped that this meeting would benefit both of the Study Programs.
Those 27 visiting students from UNY were accompanied by their lecturer, Ashadi, Ed.D. “The purpose of this visit is to learn about the development of Magister Linguistics Study Program at FCS UB which is pure linguistics, because the Magister Linguistics Study Program at UNY is applied linguistics, so that it can provide insight for students about linguistics and give them ideas in doing research”, said Ashadi, Ed.D.
The Head of the Magister Linguistics Study Program FCS UB, Ika Nurhayani, Ph.D. then explained about the curriculum and the advantages of Linguistics teaching activities especially in FCS UB. In addition, active discussions were also conducted in discussing about linguistics in both UB and UNY.
After all the presentation and discussion, the participants also visit the facilities and laboratories for teaching and learning activities in the Magister Linguistics Study Program FCS UB, including Micro Teaching Laboratory, Multimedia Laboratory and Movie Room. (PS.ILing/DT/NLN/PSIK FIB)
