Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in collaboration with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) in 2021 successfully held an Advanced English for International Communication virtual programme aimed at providing international experience in the academic, cultural, and communication fields for the students of the Study Programme of English Literature (SPEL) Faculty Cultural Studies (FCS) UB. The opening ceremony for the program was held through the Zoom Meeting platform, attended by FCS UB and also from USQ on Monday (7/12/2021).
“This programme is carried out mainly to support the implementation of the 2018-2019 international class at the SPEL FCS UB. USQ was chosen as a working partner because previously an offline preliminary programme was held in Toowoomba, USQ for the 2017 batch,” said Isti Purwaningtyas, M.Pd., the Head of SPEL FCS UB.
Because of the pandemic, the learning programme is carried out online through the Zoom Meeting platform. This learning programme will be carried out for about three weeks starting on 12 to 30 of July 2021 every Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. After this learning program is completed, the courses given will be converted into credit scores in FCS UB.
“Through this program, the output for FCS is mainly the increase in the number of outbound students and the increase in cooperation programs with foreign partners. For SPEL students, it is hoped that they can add experience, self-development, adaptation, and communication of culture and language,” said Isti. [FKQ/DTS/MSH/PR FCS]
