Bagas Rachelma Armando, a student of the Study Programme of Fine Arts (SPFA) Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) class of 2019, successfully won an award in a national-level painting competition as the second winner with the title Take Me Higher. The competition that was followed was one of the competitions in the SATRANI (Literature and Arts Competition) championship held by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.
SATRANI competition was organized to celebrate the 58th Anniversary of UNY and the 59th Anniversary of the Faculty of Language and Arts at UNY. In this painting competition, the theme set was Painting as a Media for Raising Community Potential in the Creative Industry. The SATRANI was held online by submitting the participants’ works according to the due date of 14 to 18 May 2022. Meanwhile, the SATRANI award ceremony was held via the Zoom Meeting platform on Saturday (6/4/2022).
Bagas found his passion in painting when he was in junior high school. After discovering his hobby, he studied sketching and painting before enrolling in the SPFA FCS UB. He is a member of the Batu Art Cottage and the Woedjoed Community. The Woedjoed community is an artist community in the Pujon District, Malang. In the community, he admitted that he learned and got a lot of knowledge. He also frequently participates in open-call art exhibitions organized by other universities. [test/dts/msh/Humas FIB]
