IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) is the Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus Programme of the Ministry of Education and Culture and LPDP which provides scholarships to students in Indonesia to carry out mobility programmes at leading universities abroad for one semester. These scholarships are in the form of funding for registration fees, tuition fees, round-trip airfare, living expenses, health insurance, visa making, PCR tests, and financing in case of an emergency.
Zarah Nabilla Ramadhani, a student of the Study Programme of the Japanese Literature, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB), passed the IISMA admission selection and received a predetermined scholarship. Zarah received the IISMA Awardee 2022 from Korea University. She will leave for Korea in August 2022.
The selection for this scholarship is quite strict. They were in the form of file selection, essays, diversity tests, and interviews. The students must have a sufficient EPT (English Proficiency Test) test score.
Zarah said that she got many advantages from this scholarship, including the opportunity to study abroad and discover subjects outside of her major.
“Specifically, if we become an IISMA Awardee, we can get connected to other outstanding students from all over Indonesia, as well as an opportunity to promote Indonesian culture abroad,” he said. [saa/dts/msh/PR FCS]
