The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) won 2nd place for Best Performer in the Healthy Walk event of the 62nd Anniversary of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held on Sunday (12/15/2024). With the theme “Creativity and Diversity in Carving UB’s Pride,” UB urged each faculty or working unit to perform their creativity at specifically designated points along the Healthy Walk route, with a maximum performance duration of a minute.
On this occasion, the FCS team packed the stage with designs from lecturers, education staff, and students of the Study Programme of Fine Arts and performed dance collaborations from three countries, Indonesia, China, and Japan.
“Our target is to participate in enlivening the 62nd UB Anniversary Healthy Walk event. Although we could only prepare for three days, we tried our best,” explained Imam Subakri, S.Kom., Head of Academic, Student Affairs, Alumni, Cooperation, and Entrepreneurship Division of FCS UB.
“The three dances that are performed reflect FCS, showing the culture of the study programmes in FCS. We also performed Indonesian cultural arts,” he added.
UB’s 62nd Anniversary is an important moment to strengthen togetherness and show the identity and creativity of the academic community. In this series of anniversary activities, the show of creativity became a companion event to the Healthy Walk aimed at strengthening a sense of pride in their respective faculties or working units through artistic and cultural expressions.
In addition to participating in the show of creativity, Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) FCS UB also actively enlivened the food stand by providing 500 boxes of Nasi Campur, complete with fruit and mineral water. [dts/PR FCS]
