FCS UB Launches an Integrity Zone as a Form of Clean Bureaucracy

Commemorating the 14th Anniversary and Pancasila Sanctity Day, the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) declared an Integrity Zone (Zona Intergritas) as a commitment to realizing clean bureaucracy and institutional spirit towards quality management system on Tuesday (10/3/2023). Integrity Zone is a title for government agencies whose leadership and staff are committed to realizing bureaucratic reform, especially in preventing corruption and improving the quality of public services.

The Dean of FCS UB, Hamamah, Ph.D., said that FCS UB declared the Integrity Zone as a reference milestone and basis for FCS UB’s development towards globalization with full integrity.

“As a faculty that is a reference for morals, local wisdom, and dynamic critical studies at UB, FCS UB has an important role in shaping the character of future national leaders, UB students in particular, and Indonesian youth in general,” said Hamamah.

“The cultural legacy of no corruption, strong dedication and high integrity from the Indonesian ancestors need to be preserved by upholding moral values and avoiding dishonest behavior so that FCS UB can produce strong, agile, and dynamic future leaders who can adapt to changing era,” she added.

The declaration of this Integrity Zone is based on the Regulation of the Minister for Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (Permenpan RB) No. 10 of 2019 as an amendment to Permenpan RB No. 52 of 2014 concerning Guidelines for the Development of Integrity Zones towards WBK and WBBM.

The Integrity Zone is a role model for bureaucratic reform in upholding integrity and quality services. The FCS UB Integrity Zone is aligned with the UB Good University Governance Program, which covers essential aspects such as managing conflicts of interest which often occur at various levels of policy stakeholders, controlling gratification, reward and punishment regulations, the openness of information and communication forums, integration of integrity values into the code of ethics and behavior of the academic community, to internal supervision and the whistleblowing system.

In this Integrity Zone declaration event, the Dean of FCS UB and all officials of FCS UB signed the Integrity Pact Document and Joint Commitment Charter for the Development of the Integrity Zone.
