The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a ceremony to release prospective graduates for Periods 17 and 18 of the 2024/2025 Academic Year on Friday (5/2/2025), in an atmosphere full of solemnity and pride. The event was attended by faculty leaders, department chairs and secretaries, heads of study programs, and prospective graduates.
The event opened with a procession of FCS UB leaders entering the room, followed by singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and Mars FIB, as well as a moment of silence led by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sahiruddin, S.S., M.A., Ph.D.
Then, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.Litt., submitted a report on prospective graduates.
On this occasion, FCS UB also gave awards to the best graduates from each period. They are Hana Imtinan from the Study Program of Chinese Literature with a GPA of 3.97 for the period 17, and Narima Surya Putri from the Study Program of English Literature with a GPA of 3.97 for the period 18. The awards were handed over directly by Dr. Sahiruddin, and continued with a group photo session.
Furthermore, the Gordon procession was delivered by the head of the study program or a representative to the best graduates from each study program, as a symbol of student release to the broader professional and academic world.
The representatives of each study program are Narima Surya Putri (English Literature), Kinar Rahma Aulia (Japanese Literature), Kania Putri (French Language and Literature), Hana Imtinan (Chinese Literature), Ivan Samuel Christian (English Language Education), Kezia Tabitha Humisar Simanjuntak (Japanese Language Education), Aurelya Dinda Pratiwi (Indonesian Language and Literature Education), Firaas Zhaafirah Sairtynna Sutopo (Anthropology), Aling Arafah El Ghufron (Fine Arts), and Nadia Irma Della Devina (Master of Linguistics).
The event then continued with a briefing from the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, who gave motivational messages to all prospective graduates to maintain the spirit of learning and serving wherever they are.
Representing all prospective graduates, Narima Surya Putri conveyed messages and impressions while studying at FCS UB. In her speech, she expressed her gratitude to all lecturers, education staff, and fellow students who have been part of her academic journey.
Towards the end of the event, a joint prayer was led by Adhitya Bhayuar Prihatna, S.Pd., as a form of gratitude for the achievements of the prospective graduates. The event ended with a photo session with all faculty leaders, heads of study programs, and prospective graduates.
