The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) once again became one of the locations for the implementation of the Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) in the framework of the National Selection-Based Test (SNBT) 2025. For seven consecutive days, from Wednesday to Tuesday (4/23-29/2025), FCS UB received approximately 1,120 participants, divided into two exam sessions each day.
UTBK 2025 at FCS UB was held in two rooms, namely the Hall on the 2nd Floor and the Multimedia Laboratory 3 on the 4th Floor. Both are located in Building A FCS UB and have been prepared with computer facilities, a stable internet network, an electricity backup system, a waiting room, and a place for participants’ belongings.
Each session was attended by 40 participants per room, with close supervision from a team consisting of two Room Technicians, one Location Responsible Person (Administrative Coordinator), one Location IT Responsible Person (Head of PSIK), one IT Admin, one Electricity Operator, and four Exam Supervisors.
To maintain the integrity of UTBK implementation, FCS UB applies strict examination procedures using metal detectors as stipulated in the official document “UTBK UB 2025 Metal Detector Examination Procedure” (Revision 5, April 24, 2025).
Some of the provisions applied include: (1) male and female officers carry out the examination according to the gender of the participant, (2) the examination includes body parts such as arms, waist, legs, and ears to detect communication devices or suspicious devices, (3) participants are only allowed to bring participant card documents, diplomas and identity cards, while stationery and opaque paper have been provided by the committee, (4) any participant who leaves the room during the exam (for example to the toilet), must be re-examined, and (5) If there is an indication of carrying devices or cheating behavior, participants are immediately processed according to procedures and prohibited from taking the exam.
Documentation of violations will be followed up with official reporting by the Location Responsible Person to the university committee and written in the Minutes of Examination Implementation (BAPU).
