Film FESTIVAL

The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) showcased its innovative approach by hosting a comprehensive two-day workshop on the art of documentary filmmaking from Tuesday to Wednesday (May 9-10, 2023). This event, organized in collaboration with PT. World Innovative Telecommunication OPPO and Medcom.id, attracted around 90 participants, highlighting the faculty’s commitment to fostering new skills and creativity among its students.

Continuing its innovative streak, FCS UB also launched a documentary short film production competition as part of its 15th anniversary celebrations. The competition, themed “Cultural Mosaic: Harmony in Language, Art, and Culture,” saw participation from dozens of contestants. Supported once again by OPPO and Medcom.id, this event further underscored FCS UB’s dedication to encouraging the younger generation to create groundbreaking works in the fields of arts and culture.

List of winners:

  • 1st Place : Suhadi Adi Prastowo and the Diponegoro University team for “Alkisah: Tradition and Civilization”
  • 2nd Place : Mukhammad Farid and the Rebyek Trail Run Malang team for “Lelaku Lali Jiwo”
  • 3rd Place : Adisya Putra Dwitama Puji Siswanto and the Petra Christian University team for “Wrestling Okol: Brotherhood Rivalry”
  • 4th Place : Alvin Raditya and the MAN 2 Ponorogo team for “Goresan Arti,” exploring an in-depth theme
  • 5th Place : Walaba Ginatra Utama and the SMA Negeri 1 Klaten team for “Batik Sindu Melati: Kilau Puspa.”
  • 6th Place : Nalendro Marello from the Faculty of Communication Sciences UB with the movie “Digital Rhythm.”
