Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) gave a Guest Lecture to Peking University, one of the leading universities in China, as part of the academic and cultural collaboration on Friday (1/24/2025). The event was held online through Zoom Meeting Platform and attended by students, lecturers, and participants from both institutions.

The event aimed to strengthen the academic relationship between UB and Peking University while introducing Indonesian culture to Chinese participants. With the theme “Cultural Exchange and Academic Collaboration,” this activity became a platform to share insights about culture, academics, and opportunities for inter-university cooperation.

The event’s chief organizer, Yusri Fajar, M.A., expressed his appreciation and warm welcome to all participants, especially the delegation from Peking University.

“I am pleased to welcome you all to Indonesia, even though virtually. I am sure this cooperation will benefit both institutions,” Yusri said.

He added that the session was to understand Indonesian culture and build a stronger relationship between UB and Peking University.

“Malang, East Java, is a city with a warm climate, rich culture, and a favorable environment for academic exchange. I hope that through this open dialog, we can strengthen cultural understanding and the relationship between the two universities,” he added.

In this session, participants from Peking University are expected to learn more about Indonesian culture, including its values, traditions, and uniqueness. In addition, this activity is the first step to discuss future collaboration opportunities in student exchanges, joint research, and other academic programs.

Through this activity, UB continues to support cultural diplomacy and expand international networks while providing meaningful learning experiences for participants from both sides.

The collaboration between Peking University and UB is a clear example of how cultural and academic exchanges can strengthen relations between countries. With open dialog and sharing, both universities hope to create sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation. [dts/PR FCS]
