Halal bi Halal: Minimizing Depression through Sincere Work

Based on the book Hight Tech High Touch written by John Naisbitt, “Humans will be in an age (in which we are now), when technology becomes God, then humans will lose touch, and humans will look for a meaning of a job,” said Dr. Arief Alamsyah, MARS in Halal Bi Halal at the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) on Thursday (06/13/2019) in the Auditorium of Building A FCS UB. The event was attended by lecturers, education staff and Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) FCS UB.

In his lecture, Arief explained one of the main problems faced by modern humans today which is depression. This problem could certainly be minimized or overcome by the sincerity of work.

In this occasion, the Dean of FCS UB, Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, SE., DEA. also said several things. He reminded us to be grateful because we all could celebrate the Eid Al-Fitr.

“Hopefully, the results of fasting are visible in our lives,” said Dean of FCS UB. “Hopefully, this fasting moment will improve our social spirit and awareness to be more concerned about the surrounding,” he continued.

The Dean of FCS UB also invited the entire academic community of FCS UB to build and provide the best services, so that FCS UB can be better. Essentially, a happy country is a country with honest citizens like Finland, Sweden, and Norway. “Hopefully in Indonesia, the honesty that we learn in this month can color our lives,” he concluded.
