The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) hosted the Incoming Preparation Seminar (IPS) as part of the Incoming Global Volunteer program organized by AIESEC UB. The event occurred in the second-floor meeting room of Building A, FCS UB, on Monday (30/12/2024) and was attended by AIESEC UB members and international volunteers.
In his report, Satria Wijaya, Local Committee President of AIESEC in UB, explained that Incoming Global Volunteer is a program designed to bring international participants to Malang City to engage in volunteer activities.
“Each project under this program always aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The theme for this Incoming Global Volunteer Winter Peak is ‘Equify,’ which aims to promote equality in Malang City,” Satria explained.
This year, the program attracted eight participants from China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines
, Poland, and Mongolia. Before embarking on their volunteering activities, the participants underwent preparatory training through the IPS seminar.
“The success of this event would not have been possible without the support of various parties. On behalf of AIESEC in UB, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to FCS UB for their invaluable support and to all other contributors involved in this program,” he remarked.
“We hope this collaboration continues to flourish, fostering positive contributions to the surrounding community and our beloved Universitas Brawijaya,” Satria concluded.
Dr. Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd., Director of the International Office at UB, also delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing the significance of international collaboration.
“Joyfully, we welcome you to Universitas Brawijaya for the Incoming Preparation Seminar. This event symbolizes an extraordinary collaboration and strengthens connections, inclusivity, and global understanding,” he stated.

Ismatul Khasanah, Ph.D., Expert Staff to the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship, also conveyed her appreciation to everyone involved.
“To our international participants, we hope you take this opportunity to immerse yourselves in our culture, savor traditional cuisine, and explore the natural beauty of Malang City. We are here to support you, and we hope your time here will be meaningful and unforgettable,” she remarked.
Throughout the seminar, participants engaged in various sessions, including “#Opening The Door: Embracing IGV’s Mission and Your Role” by Nathanael Tirtasaputra, “#The Madrigal Mission: Making Global Change through SDGs” by Tessa Brigitta, and “#What Else Can I Do: Your Own Gift” by Ammarsatya Esza.
