Literacy Green Open Space in Ngabab Village, Malang Regency

 One of the Community Service Programs from the Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) has been running since July 2019 in Ngabab Village, Pujon Kidul. The theme is the Development of Literacy Green Open Spaces in Ngabab Village.

Ngabab Village is very supportive in realizing the concept of Green Open Spaces (GOS). Therefore, Vanda Hardinata, M.Pd and his team consisting of Jamila Wijayanti, M.Pd, Maulfi Syaiful Rizal, M.Pd, and Syariful Muttaqin, M.A., focus on the development of green space concepts.

The series of activities began with preliminary observations on the design of the GOS along with the Budget Plan (BP). The team then held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on July 2nd, 2019 at the Village Hall. The FGD was attended by teams, event participants, and village officials.

The parties involved in the Community Service program are Nia Budiana, M.Pd, Machrus Abadi, M.Pd, Dr. Warsiman, M.Pd, from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Arenda Tri Karona and Firda Ma’rifatun Nisa’, as well as students from Thematic Community Service Program (CSP).

Vanda Hardinata, M.Pd hopes to improve, introduce and promote the Green Open Space of the Ngabab Village. Thus, this reading habit will be set forth in the routine activities that will build GOS as a form of strengthening literacy in Ngabab Village, Pujon Kidul, Malang Regency. (Lulu/DT/MSH/PSIK FIB)
