Krisdayanti Converses with the Dean of FCS UB and UB Lecturers
In preparation for the 2024 Anugerah Sabda Budaya (ASB) event, the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) received a visit from Krisdayanti, an artist from Malang Raya who is widely known in the Indonesian music world. The visit was attended by the dean and the ASB committee and took place in the Dean’s Room Building A FCS UB on Friday (10/25/2024).
Anugerah Sabda Budaya is an annual award event organized by FCS UB to show appreciation for artists and writers who contribute to developing culture and arts in East Java. The Dean of FCS UB, Hamamah, Ph.D., said that this year’s ASB was the fifth, and the presence of Krisdayanti as an artist from Batu City added special value to this event.
“This year is the fifth year of the Anugerah Sabda Budaya. We organize this event to appreciate writers and culturalists, especially in Malang Raya and East Java,” said Hamamah.
Notably, the ASB committee decided to broaden the scope of the award this year, recognizing the importance of supporting diverse art forms in the region. As a result, the award was extended to the field of music, a significant step in the event’s evolution.
“Considering that in East Java, culture has not been elevated as much as in Central Java, Yogyakarta, or Bali. This year, we also expanded the award area to the field of music,” she added.
During the meeting, Krisdayanti and the ASB committee engaged in a fruitful discussion about her role as an invited guest at the awarding night. She also shared her insights on the potential for art, culture, and tourism in Malang Raya, expressing her eagerness to collaborate with FCS UB to further develop these sectors.
