Japanese Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) received a visit from ten students and a lecturer from Hokkai Gakuen University, a university in Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan on Wednesday (8/28/2019). This ten-day visit at FCS UB is a part of the Nihongo Partner Program.
The Nihongo Partners Program is a program that supports Japanese language education in ASEAN countries by carrying out activities to introduce Japanese language and culture inside and outside the classroom with volunteers playing the role of conversation partners and assistants in teaching and learning activities, as partners of teachers and students of Japanese learner. The Partners themselves will also deepen and learn the local language and culture, with the aim of becoming a bridge for ASEAN countries and Japan.
Agus Budi Cahyono, MLT., a lecturer of Japanese Literature Study Program FCS UB, who is the chief executive of the program stated, “The activities carried out during the visit within a few days are not only for discussion in academic matters, but also in terms of the exchange of knowledge about culture”.
Agus also hopes that in the future, Japanese Literature Study Program FCS UB can send its students to Hokkai Gakuen University in a student exchange program.
One of the agenda of this visit was a joint discussion between the lecturers of Japanese Literature Study Program FCS UB with Prof. Nakagawa Kazuko held in room 2.2 of FCS A building on Friday (8/30/2019). The discussion lasted for two full hours was attended by almost all lecturers of Japanese Literature Study Program FCS UB, considering Prof. Nakagawa Kazuko is an expert in the field of phonology (onseigaku).
