The Importance of Road Map for Community Service at FCS UB

Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a workshop on the community service road map. The speaker of this workshop is a senior researcher from Satya Wacana Christian University Salatiga at SAME Hotel, Malang On Saturday (October 26, 2019). Ina conveyed the need for integration between research, service and study programs. Ina, who is a researcher of Central Java and Sumba batik, emphasized the importance of a research and community service road map so that lecturers will be able to contribute significantly to the community.

It is hoped that through this workshop, FCS UB will be able to complete the road map of community service so that the researches and services of the lecturers in FCS UB will be used as a basis for evaluating teaching and learning process in each study program at FCS UB. In this occasion, Ina shared tips on how to involve students in research and service as well as the teaching and learning process in class.

In this workshop, FCS UB lecturers discuss the road map of each department through an interactive session. From this session, four main areas were identified which would later be included in the service road map, namely literacy, media, culture and mediation. (MSH/DT/PSIK FIB)
