The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a Leadership Work Meeting with the theme Evaluation of the 2021 Work Program and the Strategic Plan of the 2022 Work Program on Monday to Tuesday (11/29-30/2021). This event was attended by 56 participants consisting of structural officials and education staff of FCS UB.

The purpose of this activity is to measure how the 2021 Work Program has been implemented, the achievements and the strategies to succeed in the 2022 Work Program.

The Dean of FCS UB, Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, SE. DEA., reminded in his speech that four years ago during the dean election, he promised to develop FCS UB based on three pillars, namely (1) the dignity of FCS UB, (2) the welfare of FCS UB, and (3) FCS UB as the axis of art and culture.

Dignity means that FCS UB is a respected faculty, although its age is still relatively new, it is not inferior to the previous faculties. For example, what we can see at this time is appearance. There are also things such as the curriculum, finance, student affairs, and so on.

As a result, there are a lot of lecturers and students’ works which also raise the self-respect of FCS UB. From these changes, we can see how GPA is increasing, how works are produced, further studies, and so on.

Also, there was a growing remuneration level of FCS UB which was originally from Cluster C, has now risen to Cluster B.

Prof. Agus Suman also stated that he wanted to make FCS UB the axis of art and culture, but this could not be done in a short time. Efforts have been made such as holding an Anugerah Sabda Budaya event and a Kirab Pataka Budaya.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for our extraordinary work. Of course, it is still not perfect, but we have tried our best. This is our colossal work, not the individual work,” he said.

“I hope that all the activities we do should be useful. There are a lot of our student activities, but apparently, they are not recognized, because the process is not right according to the procedure. There should be certain procedures for preparing letters, supervisors, and so on. So, we have to be better at designing the programs,” he explained.

On this occasion, the Dean of FCS UB also explained the Design of Organizational Structure and Work Procedures (SOTK) of FCS UB. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the FCS UB Senate, Yusri Fajar, M.A., explained about the Chancellor Regulation of the Universitas Brawijaya Number 30 of 2021 concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of the Elements Under the Chancellor and articles related to the faculty, namely Articles 97 to 120.

After UB changed its status to PTNBH, each faculty was allowed to design other units, apart from those under the university. The establishment of these work units is under the authority of the Dean’s regulations.

At the end of the event, FCS UB also gave awards to all Heads of Departments, Heads of Study Programmes, and Staff with Achievements of FCS UB 2021. The staffs who received the award were Mega Indah Rahmawati, S.S., Diah Titisari, S.S., Fandik Dwi Kristanto Pamilih, S.P., Djarot Sulistyo Wibisono, A.Md., Imam Subakri, S.
