Number Drawing for Candidates for Dean of FCS UB
The process of selecting candidates for the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS), Universitas Brawijaya (UB) for the 2025-2030 period entered an essential stage with the drawing of serial numbers and the signing of the Integrity Pact for the Dean Candidates. Located in the Hall of Building A FCS UB, this event occurred at 10 a.m. It was attended by the Faculty Academic Senate, Candidates for Dean, and the organizing committee for the Selection of Candidates for Dean of FCS UB.
Following the Minutes of the Faculty Academic Senate Number 008/UN10.F12.04/KP/2025, three dean candidates have passed the administrative selection and are entitled to participate in the next stage. Today, on Thursday (4/10/2025), the three names officially received the following numbers: Hamamah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., with number 1, Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.Litt., with number 2, and Sahiruddin, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., with number 3.
The event began with an opening, prayer, and singing of the Indonesia Raya song, followed by a report from the Chair of the Screening Committee, Dr. Hipolitus Kristoforus Kewuel. His report said the process has gone through various official and documented stages.
“We did this process simply but meaningfully. From 13 candidates, it was narrowed down to seven, and today, we are left with three names that will proceed to the next stage. Thank you to all who have supported this process,” said Dr. Hipolitus.
Meanwhile, in her speech, the Chair of the Faculty Academic Senate, Dr. Roosi Rusmawati, emphasized that this moment is an essential milestone for FCS UB.
“In the past, we had a single candidate, even bringing in deans from outside the faculty several times. Now, we are having a democratic party with candidates from within FCS UB itself. Let’s keep this process dignified and democratic,” she said.
Signing the Integrity Pact of Candidates for Dean of FCS UB
After drawing the serial numbers, the three candidates followed the Integrity Pact reading led by the Faculty Academic Senate Chair. They continued with signing the document as a form of commitment to the values of honesty, transparency, and responsibility in the selection process.
The three candidates were allowed to say a few words to show appreciation and convey goodwill to the academic community.
Hamamah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., Dean Candidate number 1, expressed his gratitude for the transparent implementation of this democratic process.
“Let us support whoever is elected. We are one big family in FCS UB,” she said.
Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.Litt., Dean Candidate number 2, emphasized the importance of togetherness and sincerity.
“The three of us are ready to support whoever is elected for the progress of FCS UB,” he said.
Sahiruddin, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., Dean Candidate number 3, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm to continue the ideals of his predecessors.
“We go through this process as well as possible and support the final result for the common good,” he said.
After the drawing of serial numbers, there are several further stages, which include Determination of the Permanent Voter List, Submission of Vision-Mission by the Dean Candidates, Voting and Counting of Votes, Submission of the results of the selection to the Academic Senate of the Faculty, Plenary of the Academic Senate and Endorsement of the Dean Candidates, to Submission of the name of the Dean Candidate from the consideration to the Rector of UB.
With this series of processes that are democratic and full of integrity, it is hoped that FCS UB can give birth to new leaders who bring the spirit of togetherness and sustainable progress. [dts/PR FCS]
