FCS UB Students Awarded Monbukagakusho Scholarship for Japanese Studies Program by Japanese Government

Students of the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) once again demonstrate their strong determination to explore their field of study in its home country and deepen their experience on the international stage. This time, three students from the Japanese Language Education Study Programme at FCS UB have received the opportunity to study in Japan through the Japanese Studies Program Monbukagakusho/MEXT and JASSO Scholarships.

This programme is one of the scholarship offerings from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Japanese Literature or Language Education to study for one year at universities in Japan.

The three students who have been awarded the scholarship are Rangga Juno Aji Kreswanto, Muhammad Satria Ramadhan, and Radja Restu Hardiyan. Rangga will study at Wakayama University, Satria will join Kochi University, and Radja will continue his journey at Nagoya City University. All three have undergone a series of competitive selection processes. Despite the challenges, their spirits remained undampened as they expressed their keen interest in learning more about Japanese language and culture.

“I have always been fascinated by Japan and its advancements in robotics. After delving deeper into Japanese culture, I became more interested in its complex traditions and language,” explained Rangga.

“I want to experience living amidst Japanese society. Expanding global relations is also one of my goals in joining this programme,” Radja added.

Both Satria, Rangga, and Radja hope that this experience will open up wider opportunities for them in the future. They are committed to making the most of this opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in their respective fields.

“I want to compare what I have observed and learned from afar with the real experience and see which aspects can be applied here,” said Satria.

“Since the programme I am participating in is the U to U route, which is between universities, I will automatically carry the name of Brawijaya University. Therefore, I will strive wholeheartedly to study well so that my efforts can strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Japan, especially between Universitas Brawijaya and Wakayama University,” concluded Rangga.
