Lolos Seleksi Program Japanese Counterpart Universities, Mahasiswa FIB UB Diundang ke Jepang

The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) proudly announces that two of its students have qualified for the prestigious Japanese Counterpart Universities Program. This program is organised by the Japan Foundation Japanese Language Institute Kansai and aims to train and expand understanding of the Japanese language, society, and culture. Additionally, it seeks to enhance teaching and language skills for Japanese Language Education students who will become Japanese language teachers after graduation.

Restu Amrigo Telaumbauna and Zidan Akbar Hendrawan Putra, students from the Japanese Language Education Study Programme at FCS UB, successfully passed the rigorous selection process and earned this exceptional opportunity.

The Japanese Counterpart Universities Program is specifically designed for selected Japanese Language Education students from across Indonesia. It provides participants with an intensive and in-depth opportunity to practice their Japanese language teaching skills while gaining a closer understanding of Japanese culture and society.

“From eleven universities with Japanese Language Education majors across Indonesia, each campus sent two delegates, making a total of 22 participants. Of these, only eight were selected for the program, with four for the autumn session and four for the winter session,” explained Restu Amrigo Telaumbauna.

“I am eager to practice my Japanese skills with native speakers. If I have the opportunity to work either as a teacher or in another job in Japan, I believe this program will be a valuable experience,” he added.

The program will commence in October this year and will last for 44 days. During this period, participants will engage in various activities designed to improve their Japanese language teaching skills and deepen their understanding of Japanese culture.

“I hope to make the most of this opportunity and gain as much experience as possible,” Restu concluded. [trans.acl/ed.al/vidya/PR FCS]
