International Programs

A. ABOUT INTERNATIONAL CLASSES IN FCS UB

 
  • International Program in the Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) is offered to students of Study Program of English, Japanese Literature Study Program, and Chinese Literature Study Program through a Double/ Joint degree program and Single degree plus a credit transfer scheme and credit earnings with overseas partner universities to facilitate students in gaining learning and interacting experience at the international level. As one of the graduation requirements, international program students must attend the Overseas Academic Program (OAP). Therefore, in this program, the students:
    • are supported by the collaboration between FCS UB and overseas partner universities,
    • are taught by native speaker lecturers/ overseas graduate lecturers/ lecturers with international experience
    • get tutorial assistance for all language skills courses since the 1stsemester
    • become proficient in foreign language competencies measured by standardized tests in the form of TOEFL/ IELTS (Study Program of English), JLPT (Japanese Literature Study Program), and HSK (Chinese Literature Study Program).

C. OVERSEAS ACADEMIC PROGRAM/OAP

Double Degree Program

Students get two diplomas (Universitas Brawijaya and partner universities abroad)

Implementation of Double Degree Programs:

  • Scheme 2 + 2:

2 years in UB (Semester 1-4) + 2 years abroad (Semester 5 – 8)

  • Scheme 3 + 1:

3 years in UB (Semester 1-5 + 8) + 1 year abroad (Semester 6-7)

Single Degree Plus Program

Students achieve a degree from Universitas Brawijaya while gaining international experience through the choice of program scheme:

  • Short (Summer/ winter) courses
    • lectures in regular classes
    • activities to increase cross-cultural understanding of competence (intercultural competence)
    • library research activities
    • capacity building or IT usage in learning
    • internship/ company visit/ voluntary work in campus/ company/ community abroad
    • case study/ collaboration (with students in partner university) program/ work
    • interaction with Social Association/ Indonesian Students abroad
    • Indonesian Culture Presentation in Partner Universities

  • Study Abroad
    • regular classes in foreign college partners abroad
    • fees are adjusted to the provisions of partner universities or by scholarship financing
  • Exchange Program
    • regular classes at partner universities
    • fees are adjusted to the provisions in the MoU
  • Community Service Program (Internship/Thematic)
    • through Internship Program on companies abroad
    • through Overseas Academic Program with internship activities on companies abroad
    • abroad internship activities recognized by FCS UB (e.g. AIESEC Global Volunteer Program, etc.)
