Activity at the University of Sydney

 The Team of the Study Programme of English Language Education (SPELE), Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB), chaired by Prof. Dr. Zuliati Rohmah, M.Pd., received the 2023 Working Lecturer Grant (Dokar) to travel to Kangaroo Country with the “Researcher Fellowship” scheme, more precisely to the University of New South Wales (UNSW), from October 28 to November 3, 2023.

It consists of four lecturers, namely Dr. Ive Emaliana, M.Pd., Dr. Iswahyuni, M.Pd., and Dian Novita Dewi, S.Pd., M.Li., who made their first visit to the University of Sydney to meet Prof. David Evans from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, School of Education and Social Work. This visit aims to initiate Joint Teaching, Joint Research, and Joint Publication collaboration with the Inclusive Education scientific scheme.

Activity at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Kensington

 

The next visit was to the School of Education, UNSW, at the Kensington branch. The meeting was held at the Morven Brown Building RM 310. The first agenda started at 9.30 a.m was the introduction of the campus (Acknowledgment of Country) delivered by Associate Professor Hoa Nguyen as Co-Chair of the Teacher Education and Professional Development Research Group. It was followed by a Scientific Presentation from the UB Team represented by Prof. Dr. Zuliati Rohmah, M.Pd., with the material title “English Teachers’ Self Efficacy in Implementing the Emancipated Curriculum” and Dr. Ive Emaliana, M.Pd., with the material title “Towards University Students’ Academic Well Being: Delving into the Role of Mindfulness and Epistemic Beliefs through Psychological Well Being.”

Prof. Andy Gao presented material on Increasing Journal Ranking

 The agenda continued with a discussion session on Strategies for Increasing Journal Rankings delivered by Prof. Andy Gao, a Journal Editor in Applied Linguistics. The meeting with Associate Professor Hoa was followed by a consultation on writing joint article tailored to the scientific fields, namely Epistemic Beliefs and Well-being and Teacher Professional Development.

The output of this programme was a Joint Publication collaboration between UB and UNSW in a reputable journals Scopus Q1/Q2. This meeting and collaboration continued with the collaboration of the FCS UB’s Dokar Team in the TED (Teacher Education and Professional Development) Seminar group, which will be held online.
