The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) of Universitas Brawijaya (UB), in collaboration with the Blitar Regency Culture and Tourism Office, organized an event entitled “Technical Assistance on Tourism Resource Management and Creative Economy for Tourism Village Activists in Panggungrejo District, Blitar Regency” on Monday (10/9/2023).

The event was attended by several village tourism activists who are highly concerned about the growth of the creative economy in the village tourism community in the Panggungrejo sub-district. With two outstanding presenters, Muklas Rofiq from Kaliwatu Group Indonesia and Nindyo Budi Kumoro from FCS UB, participants were invited to understand how to optimize tourist attractions, empower residents, and create a sustainable ecosystem.

Muklas Rofiq, a successful entrepreneur from Kaliwatu Group Indonesia, shared his experience managing and promoting tourist attractions well. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between entrepreneurs and local communities in achieving mutual success.

Meanwhile, Nindyo Budi Kumoro, an academic and tourism expert from FCS UB, provided in-depth insights into creative economic development strategies in tourist villages. He emphasized the importance of instilling local and sustainable values as the primary foundation.

In this event, participants were invited to participate actively in discussions and workshops to design concrete and sustainable action plans. Involving activists directly, this event aimed to create strategic steps to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of tourist villages in Blitar Regency.

Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.Litt., said, “This event is expected to provide an understanding for all of us about the steps to explore tourism potential in our respective regions. Through this event, it is also hoped that all participants can think together about what we can develop in our regions.”

This event energized the tourism village activists in Panggungrejo, Blitar, to apply the concept of sustainable management of tourism resources and creative economy. Through strong collaboration between entrepreneurs, local government, and the community, tourist villages in Blitar Regency is potentially become superior destinations that provide maximum benefits for all parties involved.
