The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) won brilliant success in the UB XVI 2023 Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) competition. This prestigious event was held on Saturday (5/27/2023) at UB.

In the contemporary competition branch, several FCS UB students became representatives and succeeded in becoming champions in various competitions. Among them are the 1st place in the MKQ (Musabaqah Khattil Quran) competition won by Sony Syuro Nugroho (Anthropology, 2020), 1st place in the MRQ (Musabaqah Syarhil Quran) competition won as a team by Dea Hipdhianti (English Language Education, 2022), Aulia Latifah (Indonesian Language and Literature Education, 2021), and Shelly Nurfatul Laila (Indonesian Language and Literature Education, 2022). Furthermore, there were 1st and 2nd place winners in the MKQ (Musabaqah Khattil Quran) competition won by Yayuk Kurnia Wati (Fine Art, 2022), and Dzikrillah Ummat (Fine Art, 2022). With great enthusiasm, all of them came forward together to fight for the name of FCS UB in the competitions.

Yayuk joyfully expressed her excitement for the valuable experience she had while participating in the competition. Initially, her intention was only to hone her hobby and improve the quality of Al-Quran reading, without thinking about winning the championship. However, fate said otherwise. With the permission of God Almighty, Yayuk succeeded in winning the position of the champion in the MTQ UB XVI 2023 and was able to make FCS UB proud. These achievements are clear evidence of the participants’ dedication and hard work in gaining excellence in the field of Qur’an recitation.

Moreover, the participants also gave appreciation to FCS UB for the support given to them during the coaching period. The implementation of coaching at FCS UB went smoothly where the participants received mentorings as well as intensive guidance and training. This was very helpful for FCS UB representatives in preparing themselves optimally for the MTQ UB XVI 2023 competition. In an enthusiastic atmosphere, the participants felt the warmth and close support of all FCS UB members, who continue to provide the motivation and guidance needed.

This success is also a source of inspiration for FCS UB, where it is hoped that more outstanding juniors will emerge from FCS UB. It is hoped that in the future, FCS UB can continue to produce next generations who excel in various fields, including in the MTQ branch. Their presence will be a source of pride for the campus and strengthen FCS UB’s position as one of the outstanding faculties with achievements at the national level.

MTQ UB XVI 2023 was a clear evidence of the dedication, passion, and hard work of FCS UB students in developing the quality of Al-Qur’an reading. Their participation in this prestigious event was not only a mere competition but also a real form of effort to strengthen FCS UB’s positive influence in maintaining spiritual and religious values. This success further has strengthened the image of FCS UB as a faculty that is committed to the academic development and spirituality of students. [trans.dts/ed.vidya/PR FCS]
