The Study Programme of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), successfully held the Humanities Studies Competition (HSC) titled Galaksi (Gelora Kreativitas Jelang Puncak Prestasi). This national-scale competition aims to enhance achievement and foster creativity and innovation among students.
The Galaksi 2024 competition featured various categories that students could participate in, both individually and in groups. These categories included short story writing, poetry writing, poetry reading, scientific article writing, and microteaching. With the theme “Culture, Social, and Environment,” the competition encouraged participants to explore their ideas widely and creatively.
Jamila Wijayanti, M.Pd., the chief organiser of HSC 2024, stated that the HSC activities were lively and met with great enthusiasm.
“Ninety-seven students from all over Indonesia participated in the Galaksi competition, showing an increase in interest and enthusiasm compared to the previous year,” she said.
The winners of each category were announced and received awards at the closing ceremony, which took place on Thursday (30/05/2024) at FCS Auditorium A on the 2nd Floor. The results had been previously announced on the official Instagram @galaksi.fibub. This event coincided with the announcement of winners from the competitions of seven other study programmes at FCS UB.
“I hope this event can continue to motivate students to develop their creativity and innovation. The awards given are an encouragement to continue excelling and working, especially in addressing important themes in social and cultural life,” concluded Jamila.
